📥 What We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Chorezilla:

• Parent account email address — used to create and manage your account.
• Child profile information — first name and age, entered by the parent, used to personalize tasks and make the app age-appropriate.
• Photos or media — only if you choose to upload them, for example as proof of chore completion. These are stored securely and not shared.
• App usage data — collected automatically by Firebase, including device type, app version, and feature usage. This helps us fix bugs and improve the app.

We do not collect Social Security numbers, payment information, or any data we don't need to run the app.

🔒 Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Chorezilla is a family app. Here is how we handle data for children under 13:

• All accounts are created by a parent or guardian. Children cannot independently create accounts or provide personal information without parental involvement.
• Child profile data (name and age) is entered by the parent and used only to personalize the child's experience within the app.
• We do not share children's personal information with third parties for advertising or any purpose unrelated to running the app.
• Parents can review, update, or delete their child's information at any time by contacting us at chorezilla.app@gmail.com.
• If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it promptly.

⚙️ How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your family's account
• Personalize chore assignments and rewards based on your child's age
• Send notifications about chore completions and approvals

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

🏗️ Third-Party Services

Chorezilla is built on Google Firebase, which handles our backend infrastructure including authentication, database storage, and push notifications. Firebase is a Google product and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not integrate with any advertising networks, data brokers, or other third-party analytics services beyond Firebase.

🗄️ Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your data from our systems within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

🔐 Security

We use industry-standard security measures provided by Firebase to protect your data, including encrypted connections and secure authentication. No system is completely foolproof, but we take reasonable steps to protect your family's information.
